The knowledge element of any technology implementation effort requires a two-pronged effort. The first prong is directed towards data and data sharing mechanisms. The second prong is directed towards communication and training strategies.

Data and data sharing mechanisms provide ways of storing, retrieving, and sharing organizational knowledge. Procedures, databases, data retrieval methods, and documents are valuable to an organization and must be supported by strong and well-built networks serviced by intelligently managed servers and technologies. Application Servers, Database Servers, Web Servers, Email servers, PDA' s i.e blackberries, voice over IP, and other technologies deliver and store information for an organization

In order for an organization to effectively use these technologies and access its critical information, its members, employees, and stakeholders must be well-trained in using the technologies as well as given access to data appropriately so that data is shared and stored efficiently.
